Terms & Conditions

Please read the Terms and Conditions before submitting your payment for processing. Porchlight Group Notary & Apostille reserves the right to update our Terms and Conditions at any time with or without notice.

Appointment Cancellation & Rescheduling: Deposits are non-refundable. If there is a need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, all appointment changes within 24 hours are subject to a cancellation fee.

Refunds: Please ensure all requirements are verified with the requesting agency to prevent any delays or additional costs. All notary, fingerprints, i-9, background checks, and translation services are final. For apostille and authentication services, you may request a refund only before your documents are submitted to the Secretary or Department of State. This does not include the cost of any used shipping labels. Any cancellations made after payment is submitted incur a 10% fee of the invoice amount. All deposits are non-refundable.

Lost Documents: You agree to hold us harmless for any documents that are lost or damaged due to circumstances beyond our control. We only have control when documents are in our physical possession. We are not responsible if an affiliate, shipping company, courier service, or State/Government agency loses, damages, keeps, alters, or destroys your documents. We strongly recommend that you always have a backup copy of your documents.

Apostille or Certificate Acceptance by Another Country: It is not our responsibility to acquire knowledge concerning the requirements of the documents approved by the designated agency. We are not responsible for any document rejections. Prior to submitting your documents to us, we advise that you verify the document requirements with the requesting agency. We cannot guarantee that another country will accept your documents once they have been apostilled or certified. Once the Apostille or Certificate (Non-Hague Country) is attached to your documents, we have fulfilled our obligation of service. Although an Apostille certificate does not carry an expiration date, certain countries may require that your documents be no older than a designated timeframe (i.e. three months or less). Please ensure all requirements are verified with the requesting agency to prevent any delays or additional costs.

Translation of Documents: Our translators are not international lawyers or representatives of other countries. Please ensure all requirements are verified with the requesting agency to prevent any delays or additional costs. The translator’s responsibility is to only translate your documents into the language of your choice. Documents that are difficult to read cannot be translated. There are no refunds for the translation service but we will do our best to fix your translation if any errors are found.
